Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information SitWell Lab collects, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to sitwelllab.com.

Who we are

SitWell Lab is an independent publication about office ergonomics, musculoskeletal health, and recovery tools. For any privacy question, contact iriswang0207@gmail.com.

What we collect

We try to collect as little as possible. In practice, that means:

  • Information you give us. If you email us or leave a comment, we receive your email address, your name if you provide it, and whatever you write. Comments may store your IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data — IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps — for security and troubleshooting.
  • Cookies. Small files set by this site or by third parties, described below.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies for three purposes:

  • Essential cookies. Required for the site to function, for example to remember a comment you have submitted or to keep a logged-in session alive.
  • Affiliate cookies. Set by retailers when you click an affiliate link, so they can attribute a sale to this site. These are third-party cookies with lifetimes set by each program.
  • Analytics cookies. If we use analytics, they help us understand which articles are useful and which are not. We do not attempt to identify individual readers.

You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking affiliate cookies does not affect what you pay; it only means we are not paid.

Third parties we share data with

We do not sell personal information. Data reaches third parties in only these situations:

  • Hosting. Our site is hosted by Hostinger, which processes requests on our behalf.
  • Retailers and affiliate networks. When you click an affiliate link, the destination site may set cookies and receive standard technical data such as your IP address.
  • Legal requirements. If required by law or to protect our rights.

How long we keep data

Comments and their metadata are kept for as long as the article remains published. Emails are kept until the issue is resolved, then deleted unless there is a reason to keep them. Server logs are retained by our host on their standard schedule.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California — you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email iriswang0207@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the software updated and limit access to administrative accounts.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date below. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
